Just like the Great British electorate on Thursday, there must have been much indecisiveness on the part of Threaders due to the weather so well done to all those brave souls who turned up this morning.
Do remember to look at VitalityMove (www.vitalitymove.co.uk) and convert today’s efforts into a glory or bust jog round Chatsworth for Jessica Ennis-Hill’s brand-new running festival. Its the day after the next Thread, mind you, so a letter from your parents (whatever your age) if you intend to miss our event in favour of theirs
At the business end, Mike Blair is starting to make a habit of sprinting in first, this time closely followed by new comer Ricky Wood, who may have pipped Mike but for an errant shoelace! John Thorpe was 3rd.
For our junior runners, Jacob Jones, Matthew Foreman and Nathan Gould were our first heroes back.
You’ll note a difference to the finishing protocol today as we had an IT glitch to overcome on one of our handsets. Shouldn't cause huge problems, but one or two stop watches may disagree with the “official” times by the odd second - please accept our apologies.
Thanks again to our marshals with extra support from Bob, Simon and Mick to keep Roger company. Aqua box nominator and 1936 Olympic 1 mile silver medalist Viv McDonald couldn’t understandably be with us today as her new perm would have been ruined by the rain. Thanks to Threaders generosity Aqua box will have £80.50 for water filtration systems around the World - ironic given conditions today.
